Items for Individual Consideration

NOTE: notable items from the Consent Agenda are at the bottom of this post.

  • Item (1): Request to table: expansion of Specific Use Permit (SUP) for Sewage Treatment Plant and granting SUP for Service Yard to the North Texas Municipal Water District for the Rowlett Creek Plant on the east side of Los Rios Boulevard north of 14th street

  • Item (2): SUP for DART for Transit Center/Station at the southeast corner of K Avenue and 12th Place

  • Item (3): SUP for DART for Transit Center/Station west of J Avenue and 12th Street

  • Item (4): Rezone 1/2 acre of land south of 14th Street and west of P Avenue from Retail to Light Industrial

  • Item (5): Rezone 6.8 acres of land from Regional Employment to Commercial Employment and grant an SUP for New Vehicle Dealer on 5.0 acres of land located on the west side of the Dallas North Tollway, south of Spring Creek Parkway

  • Item (6): Approve the use of part of the Overland Trail for a drainage easement

Notable Consent Agenda Items

(Total of $10,991,384 of your money in proposed expenses) Normally I only include notable items, but there are a ton of notable items this meeting.

  • Item (a): $2,542,445 for Sanitary Sewer Rehab for the repair of 25,650 linear feet of trenchless sewer pipe. If you think this sounds like a lot, you're right, but do YOU want to climb down there and fix it?

  • Item (b): $284,164 for a Digital Evidence Management System for the police department. So don't commit any crimes, 'cause we'll be able to more easily track the evidence

  • Item (c): $442,744 for Plano Courtyard Theater Performance Lighting Upgrade

  • Item (d): $730,170 for thermal lining and props for the new Fire Training Facility (some have questioned the need for the fire training facility as there's one in McKinney; that right there is the need--we have to get in the queue with other area fire departments to use that training facility, and if there's a call or inclement weather on the day we're scheduled, too bad, so sad, get back in the queue for another day)

  • Item (e): $2,442,179 for sidewalk improvements on Plano Parkway from Independence to Alma. I'd much rather do this than sewer repair. Anyone wanna go halves with me?

  • Item (f): $2,199,737 for a 5 year contract for Emergency Services Internet Protocol (ESInet) network

  • Item (h): $247,880 for a 3-year extension for IP Based Fire Station Alerting System

  • Item (j): $292,167 for 8 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles

  • Item (l): $4,015,338 for Russell Creek Park Synthetic Turf Fields

  • Item (n): a resolution authorizing DART to exercise eminent domain for the silver line at the southwest side of 10th Street and J Avenue

  • Item (o): To create a local government corporation named Plano Parking Facilities for the Collin Creek project

  • Item (s): Authorize issuance of $12,590,000 in 10-year "City of Plano, Texas, Waterworks and Sewer System Revenue Bonds, Series 2021"

  • Item (t): Authorize issuance of $81,235,000 in previously-approved 20-year "City of Plano, Texas, General Obligation Refunding and Improvement Bonds, Series 2021"

  • Item (u): Authorize issuance of $43,635,000 in 40-year "City of Plano, Texas, Municipal Drainage Utility System Revenue Refunding and Improvement Bonds, Series 2021"

Whew, that was close! We almost ran out of alphabet!
