Plano City Council Preview - November 22, 2021

Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Economic Development: Discuss a financial incentive for a business to locate to, stay in, or expand to Plano.

  • Revise 2022 Council Meeting Dates to move the March 14 council meeting to March 15 to accommodate the full Plano ISD Spring Break.

  • Departmental Report - Environmental Health and Sustainability.

  • Updates of Noise Ordinance with a permit process for entertainment venues. This will be to review and seek council's direction on the proposed update to the ordinance. No actual updates will be made to the ordinance at this meeting.

  • Discussion and direction on our Sales Tax Allocation

Notable Consent Agenda Items

Total of $4,319,812 of your money in proposed expenses

  • Item (b): $1,334,500 to repair approximately 100,000 square feet of sidewalk and 268 barrier free ramps at various locations, generally east of Independence Parkway.

  • Item (c): $1,974,550 to repair 18,200 square yards of arterial concrete, 10,000 square feet of sidewalk, and 44 barrier free ramps at various locations.

  • Item (d): $843,247 for the removal and replacement of approximately 1,500 linear feet of full-width collector street pavement, sidewalk, driveways, and barrier free ramps on Wyngate Blvd.

  • Item (e): $167,515 for 6 Toro Groundsmasters Zero Turn Mowers to be used by Parks & Recreation, and to host the inaugural Plano Parks & Rec. Mower Marauder Marathon! (I'm just kidding about that last part, but wouldn't that be cool to see six of these racing around Oak Point Park, crash-up derby style?)

  • Item (j): To review and approve the city's investment policy.

  • Item (k): Approve the city's Investment Portfolio Summary for the quarter.
